Video documentation of, and music videos inspired by, the 2024 Burning Man art installation Love Shines Down. In addition to documenting the project from pre-build to event, I created music videos for tracks by one of the lead artists riffing on the installation's molecular shape.
challenge.
For this project, character consistency was a consideration. But the video would be shown on an LED spinner inside the astronauts' helmets, not on a high res screen. Conveying the characters' story in a short, dialogue free video was the primary goal.
result.
Seeing people get their phones out at Burning Man to video the video that you made was deeply rewarding experience. The piece was later exhibited at the Burning Man Decompression Party in Oakland, and I was able to update the helmet video, incorporating Mark Rivera's evolving concept for the storyline and my own learnings.
