I suspected the obvious public domain characters would be… obvious. So I paired a surprisingly empathetic kthulu from Lovecraft lore with Dickens' penny-pinching Scrooge playing to type.
Making them Wedding Planners gave me an easily understood context, reasons for a lil' conflict, and an alls-well-that-ends type ending. And endings aren't always easy, as a lot of SNL sketches tend to demonstrate.
